Performing ARTS Dance Camps


Performance Workshop Dancers will learn about performance quality in a variety of different situations including auditioning, performing live choreography and performing on film. Students will train and refine performance skills to help them adapt and adjust to the needs of specific dance genres and choreographers. Students will also create dances as a vehicle to experiment with perfor- mance quality. Tuition includes a $20 performance supplies fee. The class will culminate in an in-studio performance at the end of the term. To enroll, dancers must have one year of previous technical experience and must also have a concurrent ballet and/or jazz registration in Intermediate 1 level or above. Day Date

Improvisation For Technique And Performance Imaginative dancers with a passion for exploring and creating movement will flourish in this unique summer workshop with Brian Humphreys. Dancers will learn a variety of ways to experiment with movement through an exploration of sensory awareness, contact and self-discovery. Dancers should come to class dressed in a leotard and tights and may dance barefoot. Students must have a concurrent enrollment in an Intermediate/Advanced ballet or jazz class and have a minimum of two years of training in ballet and/or jazz technique. Day Date

Contemporary & Jazz Workshop Take your jazz and contemporary dance technique to the next level during the summer hiatus with faculty member Brian Humphreys. Dancers will work in both the jazz and contempo- rary genres and will work intensively on technique, skills and artistry as well as the ability to seamlessly transition from style to style. Dance Discovery Theater Camp (Grades 1-4) Explore a variety of dance styles ranging from ballet to hip hop, centered around the stories of Finding Dory and Where the Wild Things Are. Learn choreography and explore movement related to these wonderful stories and characters. Create costumes, backdrops, props and crafts and on the last day of camp, present an in-studio performance to family and friends. Space is limited! Instructor: Molly Strom. Location: RPX. Elevation! Summer Dance Performance Workshop Take your dance training to new heights this summer with this intensive, one-week workshop designed for the serious dance student at the Intermediate and Advanced levels. Dancers will take a daily ballet, jazz and contemporary technical class with rotating specialty dance styles such as hip-hop, tap, Latin jazz and ballroom to name a few. Dancers will also cross-train in yoga and Pilates and learn about other dance-related topics such as auditioning, acting, nutrition, injury prevention and choreography. Elevation!
