Aquatics Swim Team
Meadows Competitive Swim Team (5-18 years) Join our developmental competitive swim team. This unique experience will provide swimmers with personal instruction and training in stroke mechanics, starts, and turns. Mt. Prospect Park District belongs to the Northern Illinois Swim Conference where boys and girls compete within their own age group at swim meets held Wednesday evenings during the summer. Prerequisite: 5-8 yr olds must be able to swim freestyle 25 yards or 1 length of the pool. Ages 9 yrs and up must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and 25 yards of one other competitive stroke. Big Surf Specialty Classes
Junior Lifeguarding Prepare yourself for a future in lifeguarding. Train with our professional staff as you cover the basic of first aid, CPR, and water skills. Gain knowledge about the skills needed to be an American Red Cross lifeguard, learn about communication and decision making skills as well as the basic responsibilities of being a lifeguard. Receive guidance in the application process and participate in a mock interview to wrap up the session. Skills required for this class are the ability to swim 100 yards, tread water for 1 minute and be able to submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet underwater. Open to boys and girls ages 11-14. Pre-Season Practice Schedule (All participants must be enrolled and on the Swim Team Roster before they can participate)
June 6 - June 10 New Swimmers 10 and under 4:30-5:15pm at RecPlex Returning 10 and under 5-6pm at RecPlex
New Swimmers 11 and up 5:30-6:30pm at Meadows. Returning Swimmers 11 and up 6:30-7:30pm at Meadows.
A parent meeting will be held on June 2 at RecPlex starting at 6pm. Each swimmer will receive a team shirt at the beginning of the season.

Available Online Water Polo
Join our new and exciting water polo classes and learn all about this team sport played in the pool. Coaches will teach the fundamentals of the game through training, drills and scrimmages.
