Mohegan Sun Pocono offers a “There’s so much to choose from” culinary environment combined with an “And there off!” experience - for planners and the public alike (even for those who aren’t into gam- ing).
Top of the line Viking gas stoves and their matching conduction ovens gleam expansively underneath a phalanx of brilliant spotlights overhead, while Kim McLendon generates a million megawatt smile of her own as the impassioned host of “In The Kitchen,” the entertaining cooking show set within the jazzy, sophisticated forty-seat studio/demonstration kitchen that’s snuggled grandly within the Mohegan Sun Pocono - the resort, casino and spa bejeweled amid mountainous northeastern Pennsylvania.
Kim, who is a former Mrs. Pennsylvania International, gives off a sunny and engaging girl- next-door glow, her blonde tresses radiating softly against the staging area’s lighting; a warm reassur- ance permeating over the soulful simmer of her Mediterranean Seafood Scampi. “It pairs great with wine,” McLendon enthusiastically suggests.
“In the Kitchen” is a live show featured every Friday and Saturday evening at Mohegan; a fun, immersive, and a decidedly un-casino-like attraction in which to partake at this decidedly more-than-a- casino property.
Hey, who doesn’t like learning about, talking about and eating food, right?
“In the Kitchen” is just one of the many applications for this radiant showcase space - possibly the finest demo kitchen I’ve ever seen in my life. The cooking studio is set within the Rustic Kitchen, the proper- ty’s Italian flared restaurant, which, in turn, also can be utilized for countless sorts of culinary assigna- tions – both corporate and personal.
