Dogfish Head Distilling Company is a local spirits purveyor based in Southern Delaware

Coming to Lewes in October of 2016 is Lefty’s Alley and Eats. The 35,000-square foot entertainment venue will feature 16 lanes of bowling; a state-of-the art arcade capable of holding 70 games; a 4,000-square foot, two- story laser tag arena; four 20-foot-by-12-foot big screen TVs; as well as a 110-person restaurant and bar offering banquet options for corporate and group events.

Painting with a Twist, opening in Lewes this spring, will offer two- and three-hour classes in their studio that focus on a single work of art at each class. They provide complimenta- ry beverages - wine, beer, coffee, tea. Participants paint along with local artists to create their own works of art that they then take home at the end of the class.

There’s an ever-increasing interest in wine, beer, and spirits tourism, and Southern Delaware has that covered, too.

In addition to the famous Dogfish Head brand as a Southern Delaware original, some newer notable wine, beer, and spir- its entrepreneurs are adding their own unique flavors to the

mix and offering interesting possibilities for meeting planners and attendees.

These include Beach Time Distilling in Lewes, which offers private tours as well as two public tours per month during the winter with an expanded schedule in season. Beach Time Distilling is a small Delaware Craft Distillery producing Rum, Vodka, Gin, Specialty and Seasonal Spirits. Brimming Horn Meadery, slated to open in early fall of 2016 in Milton, will feature a tasting/sampling area as well as a Scandinavian- style mead hall. Also, 16 Mile Brewery in Georgetown has a tasting room. They also rent their tavern or brewery grounds for special events.

Finally, Dogfish Head Distilling Company recently launched its 100 percent scratch-made spirits line. The new state-of-the- art distillery is located on its Milton campus, which is well known for its extremely popular brewery tours and tasting room. Also, Dogfish Head will soon open Chesapeake and Maine, a new maritime-themed seafood restaurant located in Rehoboth Beach next to Dogfish’s original brewpub.
