Aspirational new member S

utton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce has welcomed its 50th member.

That honour went to Aspire

Sports, which provides physical activity solutions through a delivery, training and support framework to schools, sports coaches and the community, to help children and young people improve their physical literacy, health, well-being and academic achievement. Based in Spitfire Road,

Erdington, Aspire is run by Paul Griffiths and James Trowman, and the business is currently celebrating its tenth year in business. Co-founder Paul said: “When James and I

Aspire coach Darryl Moffatt leads a football academy session at the Aspire Active Camp at Bishop Vesey Grammar School

started Aspire Sports, we always said that we'd never lose focus on having fun and giving people, particularly children and young people, the best possible opportunity to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.” The pair also run a charity, the Aspire Sports

Trust, which works to improve the health, well- being, life skills and education of children and young people, and operates in the UK and Africa.

On-site brewery is a

must visit attraction Sutton Coldfield’s first ‘brew pub’ has opened its doors, bringing what is claimed to be a ‘new, unique offer’ to drinkers and diners in the town centre. The Brewhouse and Kitchen pub replaces the

Mediterranean restaurant Cambaz, and with the pub brewing its own beer on-site it will provide beer connoisseurs in Sutton Coldfield and the Midlands with a ‘must visit’ attraction. Manager Kevin Bolton says that the return of a

dedicated pub to the iconic Birmingham Road site, formerly The Cup, will resonate with beer lovers both in the town and across the region. Kevin said: “Brewhouse & Kitchen will

transform Sutton Coldfield’s social scene by providing an environment all about quality food and drink for the whole family. “Having a dedicated master brewer on site

enables us to brew a selection of ales that will only exist in our own pub, giving local beer lovers a unique experience right in the heart of Sutton Coldfield, with a range of seasonal brews throughout the year. “However, our own ales will not be the only

drinks on the menu. We are very proud of our wide and unusual selection of craft beers from the region and beyond, as well as an extensive range of wines, spirits, ciders and soft drinks. “Although we champion the fact that we will

brew our own beer on the premises it is not just our master brewer that we are proud of. We have managed to recruit an amazing chef in Matt Wilkinson, who joins us from Coast in Pembrokeshire.”
