‘Working with businesses to facilitate the healthy growth of our city and communities’
“This early meeting with John enabled us to underline that link and we look forward to working with him and his team. The Chamber has always engaged strongly with the Council and we have been able to champion the cause of private companies in the city. “We are under no illusion that this remains a

HS2 Ltd move into new home
The company building the new high-speed rail link between London and Birmingham has officially opened its new offices in the city. HS2 Ltd will be based at One
Snowhill, a dramatic office block that overlooks Snow Hill railway station in the heart of the city. More than 150 staff will be based
there, including engineers and project managers. The office was officially opened on 4 February by Patrick McLoughlin, Secretary of State for Transport. Mr McLoughlin was given a tour
of the new offices by the executive chairman of HS2, Sir David Higgins, and Simon Kirby, HS2’s chief executive. A number of senior business
people were also in attendance. Chamber chief executive Paul Faulkner was part of the group that welcomed Mr McLouglin to the new offices, and during his visit, the Minister was invited to unveil a plaque to mark the occasion. Paul said: “The visit by the
Minister was a tangible sign that HS2 is soon going to become a reality. The project will be a huge boost to the region, not just in improving connectivity but also in terms of jobs.”
