First stop for fleet data C

‘one-stop shop’ for fleet firms seeking urgent guidance on data and its benefits. TR Fleet’s managing director Julie Summerell has partnered with Michael Rayner, who runs

Dorset consultancy firm Turris UK, in a bid to cut through the vast amount of data available for the fleet sector. The initiative has been backed by other companies and organisations, including Oxford-based Real World Strategies, London group Tom Tom Telematics, the Freight Transport Association and others. Mr Rayner said: “We are developing a global community of best

practice in using data to improve vehicle fleet performance. “Our community will become the go-to resource for people with

fleet data questions or with great stories to share about what they have achieved. “There is an enormous amount of information out

there – but people are saying ‘There is too much and I am going to ignore it’ so they are not getting the benefit of it. “We now have a membership of 250 to 300 and

there is an online group as well, called Fleetgeeks.” He said Fleetgeeks aimed to encourage online debate through user groups and forums. “As a direct result of our engagement in this community,

our fleets will be safer, more sustainable and evidently better against every measure of fleet performance.”
