Returning for its twelfth year and a favou- rite for all foodie diaries, the Exeter Festi- val of South West Food & Drink is back for 2015, running from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th April. The three-day and three-night festival celebrates the rich variety of high quality food and drink made in the South West and will feature more than one hun- dred producers from the region as well as live demonstrations by top chefs including festival founder Michael Caines MBE. Visitors can look forward to inspiration-
al workshops and food-themed activities for adults and children alike to enjoy as well as the opportunity to stock up on some of the fi nest food in the South West. It’s the perfect time to get a real taste of the region, to meet and speak to the people behind the produce, and to enjoy a foodie weekend in beautiful surround- ings, just a stone’s throw from the very heart of the city centre of Exeter. Bristol will be a hive of foodie activity once again from 1st – 9th May. The main city centre events will take place across the bank holiday weekend, including a ‘best of the south west’ producer’s market. The event is launched by the BBC Food
and Farming Awards, which take place in Bristol on 30th April. After that, events will be taking place all over the city. Core themes include Land and Growing, Fami- lies, Feasts and Festivities and Wellbeing. BEER AND MUSSEL FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 4TH YEAR
On 21st and 22nd March, Rick Stein will host their fourth annual Beer and Mussel Festival at The Cornish Arms. The event will open with a book signing by Rick Stein on Saturday morning. You can enjoy over 30 different beers and ciders from St. Austell Brewery and
Sharp’s Brewery, including an exclusive festival beer. Alongside these, mussel dishes such as moules mariniere and mussel masala with coconut, ginger and green chillies will be freshly cooked. The two day event will screen the England rugby game, a cooking demonstration by
Jack Stein and talks from St. Austell Brewery as well as a charity pub quiz and music from Taz Djay Disco and The C90’s. Alex Clark, head chef at The Cornish Arms, commented: “We are really excited to be holding our fourth festival in St. Merryn. It’s a great family day fi lled with local enter- tainment, fantastic varieties of beer and food cooked by some of Rick’s top chefs.”
