Dunblane Centre NEwsletter Update from Andy, Youth Worker
As we enter November we hope those of you that took part in our October programme had a fantastic time! We’re always looking for feedback and suggestions on our holiday and Youth programmes, so if you do have any comments or suggestions, please let us know!
We recently hosted BlackOut, a one off club event for those in S3-6. With the support of one of Fubar Stirling’s DJs, we were able to make this a fantastic event. With over 100 young people attending, and fantastic feedback, we have decided to make BlackOut a regular event, with 5/6 nights a year. Keep an eye out for future information :) We’re always excited to add something a bit diff erent to our roster!
During November we will be running Online Safety sessions across all of our Youth Clubs and we’ll also be running some activities linked with Alcohol Awareness Week within our Saturday Night Project. Be sure to make it along to these sessions if you can - they are guaranteed to be eye opening!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank many of Junior Volunteers for their service with the Centre. As I mentioned in June’s Wire, we signed up to participate in the Saltire Awards - a new Scottish Government backed volunteer award. Since we have associated ourselves with this programme, the Centre has been able to present several certifi cates of service, with many volunteers reaching the 150 hours award. Our Youth Clubs would struggle without the support of our Junior Volunteers and I hope that we see continued success in this area.
We are also on the hunt for some adult volunteers to join our Youth Club teams. If you think you would be able to give 2 hours per week, please get in touch!
