FF - Your community magazine of Teulada Moraira Lions´ Club opening soon in Moraira
Yes, it’s true. Teulada Moraira Lions Club has finally taken the plunge and embarked upon what is for it the significant if not momentous step of opening its own shop in Moraira - to be called THE LIONS DEN - to augment the income generated by existing fund-raising activities for the TM Lions´ various projects.
So far as TM Lions are concerned, the premises they have obtained are ideally located, being just next door to Barclays Bank in the Centro Comercial Barclays, just past the roundabout on Ctra Moraira-Teulada, where plenty of off- street parking is available.
Even before coming under the wing of Teulada Moraira Lions, the shop had acquired a degree of notoriety as the starting point from which a gang of would be bank robbers had attempted, unsuccessfully, to tunnel through the wall into the bank next door - after that “Life with the Lions” will be positively mundane!
The Lions Den will open in mid-September and initial hours of business will 10am to 3.30pm from Monday to Saturday. The shop will be staffed by a combination of TM Lions and volunteers* with additional backroom personnel to process clothing and all other items donated to the shop** with a view to making them ready for subsequent display & sale.
For details of how the shop is progressing and to keep an eye out for that opening date, simply log on to Facebook and search for The Lions Den.
*If you would be interested in helping TM Lions by offering to be a volunteer member of the shop staff on either a regular or occasional basis, do please contact the shop’s General Manager and TM Lions´ Club Vice President, David Platt, either by ´phone: 966 493 779, or email:
prisonplatty@yahoo.co.uk for information.
**Do you have any unwanted but good quality clothing, household items etc currently taking up storage space and which you would be willing to donate to Teulada Moraira Lions´ Club for The Lions Den? If so, kindly contact Club President, Colin Lilley, or his wife, Maria, either by phone: 966 491 917, or email:
colinlilley1424@gmail.com so
that suitable
arrangements can be made for collection - please note, however, that The Lions Den is not, unfortunately, able to accept large items of furniture.
