he hotel design takes its inspiration from the swirling winds that have, for centuries, brought foreign travelers and trade to China. It also represents the figurative winds of changes that have transformed Chinese society over the past three decades.
It is a motif that runs through the hotel, from the reception to the business centres, restaurants and dining terrace and on into the rooms and suites.
The visitor is swept into the theme immediately on arrival. Swirling curves entice them into the lobby with ceiling, floor patterns and lighting that are reminiscent of water spouts.
A tornado crystal chandelier is the centre of attention in the Renaissance Great Room Lobby, designed to provide a subtly changing mood and environment throughout the day and evening.
This design story is consistent throughout the hotel, from the elevator lobbies to the Conference and Executive centres and in the luxury suites.
In addition there are three restaurants, a Japanese specialty house, a traditional Chinese restaurant, and a modern restaurant with an exterior dining terrace.
