T

he HMC PET CT Center for Diagnosis and Research is one of the first dedicated molecular imaging facilities of its kind in the region, utilising the very latest advances in PET CT technology.

The Qatar Center sets a new benchmark for healthcare, through a comprehensive range of the latest medical advances. The revolutionary diagnostic technology is safer than the old technology but delivers higher quality images.

Where possible the building and design of the center used renewable or locally sourced materials. The need for artificial lighting is reduced by optimising the available natural light with glass partitions.

Mashrabiya patterns are used throughout the facility to reflect Islamic and Arabic cultural traditions.

This was an in-house project, designed and managed by the Health and Facility Department. The center is linked to Al Amal Hospital by a bridge on the first floor.

Patients in the region who currently have to travel abroad for this kind of procedure can

benefit from the very latest technological advances without leaving Qatar.

The standards of service for patients are the equivalent of the finest hotels, all contained within a health facility.

Hamad Medical Corporation is Qatar’s leading not-for-profit health care provider.
