10th anniversary This month’s anniversary memories are from our Team Leader, Lynn Balman. There are so many amazing memories that I have from the Dunblane Centre and the people who support it . From Show in a Week (ALL of them) to Christmas Craft Fairs, Funday Sunday and working with all my favourite people both volunteers and staff xx But I’ve been asked to choose one, so here it is, my favourite, the one I will NEVER forget is….. the Wimbledon Final, Sunday 7th July 2013 We - staff and volunteers - had shown and watched all of Andy’s’ games leading up to the fi nal, even getting Chinese takeaway for the Semi, as no-one wanted to go home! When he won that, and we all realised he’d got to the fi nal, we were all very excited. Dunblane was buzzing and the Centre was electric with anticipation of the big day, with media and the public phoning all the time, wanting information on where they could watch the big fi nal.

Sunday morning of 7th July I opened the Centre and just knew the day was going to be fabulous! We had Central FM here doing a live broadcast, along with what felt like every journalist from every newspaper and fi lm crews from the BBC and Sky TV. We opened the doors (to a very large queue!) and Centre was soon fi lled to its maximum. I was fl ying around doing interviews left right and centre, helping people fi nd seats, trying to control the amount of people that could come in. There were people standing at doorways, on chairs just anywhere to get a sense of the atmosphere of the place. We had people from all over the country and beyond to come here, and it was lovely listening to all the stories. Doing those interviews I remember thinking this is a small taste of being a celebrity, because that’s what Dunblane felt like, everyone wanted to be a part of it, it was incredible. When he won, there wasn’t a dry eye in the building, I was standing on a chair (because I couldn’t get a seat) nearly at the door blubbing my eyes out. Then I was very cruelly taken away to do an interview with Central FM and I will never forgive Chris Courtney for that because he has me on radio crying my eyes out trying
