HEAT PUMPS
“FOR A TYPICAL DOMESTIC OUTDOOR POOL OF 10X5M, OPERATED FROM MAY TO SEPTEMBER, EQUIPPED WITH A SURFACE COVER, BASED UPON CURRENT ENERGY COSTS, THE SAVINGS ACHIEVED BY A SWIMMING POOL HEAT PUMP PER SEASON MAY BE IN THE REGION OF £124 COMPARED TO MAINS GAS, £958 COMPARED TO HEATING OIL, £1,529 COMPARED TO PROPANE GAS AND £2,666 COMPARED TO DIRECT ELECTRICITY!”
mark from the manufacturers which means that it is one of the ‘greenest’ choices buyers can make. The UltraTemp-E also features an impressively long list of standard features including AutoSet™ temperature control, a feature that monitors water temperature and activates the pump when needed, overriding the time clock and maintaining the desired temperature. The ultimate in convenient, hands-free control! Add to that 100% titanium heat exchangers, an intuitive LCD control board, self-diagnostic software and an automatic defrost feature, and you can see that the UltraTemp-E ticks all the ‘must have’ features boxes.
THE ALL NEW SLIMLINE RANGE OF CALOREX PROPAC HEAT PUMPS Available through Certikin, Calorex’s range of Pro Pac Heat Pumps which are recognised as the most sustainable way to dynamically heat swimming pool water and with a Calorex heat pump you will save both energy and operating costs.
The Pro Pac features an intelligent, electronically controlled defrost that allows the units to operate reliably in air temperatures as low as 5°C and the ‘Y’ range (all year round), as low as -15°C. This new defrost system, which is specifically designed for the UK climate, will minimise the time Pro Pac units spend on defrost, providing exceptional early and late season performance, which is when most demand is placed on the heat pump. Featuring titanium full flow heat exchanger, Pro Pac heat pumps are designed to provide an industry leading coefficient of performance, saving CO2
and reducing operating costs.
A ‘smart pool pump control’ feature enables Pro Pac to synchronise a pool pump to run only when the pool requires heating, significantly cutting down on pool pump running time. This feature should be used in conjunction with a time clock that operates the pool pump for a block period so that minimum pool water turnover rates are maintained. With high efficiency, sound insulated, rotary (PP 8 and 12) or scroll (PP 16 and 22) compressors, the fully ERP compliant Pro Pac range is designed with space in mind, meaning there are more installation opportunities around the sides of buildings or in plant rooms. To help you choose the right Pro Pac model for an outdoor pool, the new Calorex slide-rule has been specially designed. The slide-rule has been divided into four

seasons:- All Year Round, March-November, April-October and May- September. Providing the customer knows the surface area and the required pool water temperature, they can use the slide- rule to calculate the correct Pro Pac. A low water table and pool cover is assumed.
COMPAC ENTRY LEVEL HEAT PUMP RANGE FROM CERTIKIN If ever price is an issue, Certikin’s entry level Compac heat pump is the perfect solution. Nothing beats the Compac range for the efficient and economical heating of domestic pools and ideal for above-ground pools too! Available in three sizes 6, 8 and 12kW. Extracting heat from the air, the heat pump uses 1kW of energy to generate approximately 4kW of energy. Featuring a titanium heat
exchanger, heat is transferred to the pool water from the ambient air using a vapour compressor cycle similar to that found in a refrigerator.
Users pay only for the cost of electricity to run the motor inside – the heat that is absorbed from the air is free, making a Compac heat pump efficient and cost effective. The low energy consumption coupled with high heat production makes a Compac heat pump an environmentally friendly way to heat a swimming pool. Unlike alternative methods, the Compac requires no fuel storage tank or high capacity electrical supply and produces no smells, fumes or CO2
gases.
Like the rest of the range, the heat pump must be installed to allow adequate airflow to and from the unit. It comes with a two year limited warranty and comprehensive UK support and back up.
