SCP’s stand was busy throughout the three days in Coventry
Lighthouse Pools thought the change of venue revitalised the show and being present was the right decision
But how did new or infrequent exhibitors feel about it? Daniel Phillips of Lighthouse Pools who supply Zodiac products said: “SPATEX 2014 was a very good show for us and I feel being present was the right decision. We have, initially, picked up some good leads that we hope to convert into new customers over the coming year. I think the change of venue did revitalise the show, however whether this carries forward to next year we will have to wait and see. We had a great response for the raffle from trade visitors, although the support from fellow exhibitors was disappointing. We raised £390 for the Alzheimer’s Society, in the end, which they are very grateful for. Thank you to all who helped us support this great cause.” Post show, the organisers were pleased to report the number of visiting companies was up a staggering 46% on 2013, which is an impressive stat and the show’s move to a more central location appears to have been further endorsed by visitors with a more representative cross section of all sectors of the trade including holiday complexes, health clubs and local authorities. Those that made the journey did so from all areas of the UK, but of course, as you would expect, there was a significant increase in the number of visitors from the midlands and the north. That said though, there were many familiar faces there

as well as a number of new ones so it seems that some concerns about visitors travelling from the south were largely unfounded. So in summary, was the move a success?
For the majority, it seems the answer is a resounding yes. SPATEX 2015 takes place 1 – 3 February 2015 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. SPN
