OPENING TIME

“SPRING OPEN UP IS A VERY IMPORTANT TIME FOR POOL OWNERS AS ANY PROBLEMS THEY LEAVE UNSOLVED COULD ACCUMULATE IN THE FORTHCOMING WEEKS AND MONTHS AS THE WEATHER CHANGES FOR THE BETTER”

GOLDEN COAST’S COMPREHENSIVE RANGE KEEPS TROUBLE AT BAY

Establishing and maintaining the correct water balance is important from the start of the season. Not doing so negatively impacts on a number of aspects, including: the pool’s chemical efficiency, the comfort of bathers, the protection of pool and plant room equipment and the quality and appearance of the water.

Opening time offers the perfect opportunity to get customers off onto the right foot in the months ahead, according to Golden Coast whose latest product catalogue includes a comprehensive selection of chemicals, including four which have been specially developed to help pool maintenance specialists achieve and maintain water balance in a cost and time efficient manner. With no pre-dissolving required, Swimmer Pool Refresh, offers the ultimate product for regular oxidation. It combines chlorine and non-chlorine shock with a built-in clarifier that destroys bather wastes and clarifies the water. Supplied in pre-measured 350g sachets, Pool Refresh is easy to apply. cut the corner of the sachet with scissors and broadcast the contents over the water’s surface. Once applied, the water looks great and is comfortable for bathers. One sachet will treat pools up to 10,000 gallons (45.45m3

).

The next generation Swimmer Rapid Shock is a calcium hypochlorite granule product. Quick to dissolve, it is easy to apply. Thanks to a higher level of available chlorine, less product is needed – making it an efficient solution for quickly establishing chlorine levels and maintain pH levels. In pools above 20°C, it can be carefully dispersed directly on the surface of the pool. Alternatively, it can be pre-dissolved in warm water and added while the pump is running. If your customer’s pool has a higher than normal metal content, adding Swimmer Stain and Scale Inhibitor at the start of and throughout the season will minimise the negative impact of the metals in the pool: preventing scale deposits within the filter, heater, pipe work and on pool surfaces.

Poor water maintenance can quickly transform crystal clear water into something very murky. Just one dose of Copper Free Summertime Algaecide will help prevent algae growth for up to three months. This long-life, copper-free algaecide has been formulated to prevent growth during the summer

season. It is widely compatible with many sanitisers, including chlorine, bromine, and active oxygen.

LO-CHLOR FROM TOTAL WATER PRODUCTS STOPS PHOSPHATES Spring open up is a very important time for pool owners as any problems they leave unsolved could accumulate in the forthcoming weeks and months as the weather changes for the better. A lot of traditionalists will look at shock chlorination and algaecides however, this process releases phosphate back into the pool water which is an issue for the pool owner and more importantly needs immediate treatment. Failure to treat this issue effectively will result in further algal blooms making the pool unsightly and leaving it needing further attention which means spending more money and down time.

Lo-Chlor Chemicals has the solutions to stop phosphates from creating such issues in a pool. For high levels of phosphate, one treatment of their Bulk Starver product will remove up to 5,000 ppb in a 50,000 litre pool and this treatment should be followed up by regular treatment with Starver on a weekly/fortnightly basis or as necessary. By taking the phosphate out you take the food source for algae out of the water creating less demand for chlorine and the algaecide will last longer saving your customers money in the long run by reducing the amount of chemicals needed.

Since 1994 Lo-Chlor Chemicals has led the way in the production, distribution and development of phosphate removal, testing and treatment. Lo-Chlor Starver®

is now

sold in more than 50 countries worldwide and is widely accepted as one of the most successful and most effective specialty pool and spa chemicals to date.

OPENING TIME IS EASY WITH BAYROL RANGE FROM POLLET POOL GROUP With such a large amount of rainfall this winter, it’s worth bearing in mind that it’s likely rain water will have collected in the pool and the mineral content level will be very diluted. Rain water is usually very soft and acidic. It may be that chemicals such as calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate may need to be added even in parts of the country where water is typically hard. BAYROL’s Hardness Plus and Alcaplus products will raise the hardness, total alkalinity and pH of the water. Balancing the pH is the most important aspect of bringing the water back into good balance.
