There is no argument that wood is the first choice sustainable building material – whether you are building a house or making toys, laying a garden deck or fencing a field.
The TTF has, as its mission, the job of driving those messages home to everyone from politicians to builders. We are winning.
The TTF is also closely involved in much of the public policy around wood and wood products, such as the government’s procurement policies and the EU’s Timber Regulation. We are in regular contact with stakeholders around the globe to make sure they understand the need to supply the UK market with quality timber, fit for purpose and carrying the environmental credentials to help in the fight against illegal logging – something in which the UK trade and government lead the way. We
also continue to work with standards’ bodies to make sure purchasers can be assured that what they buy does the job. As you can see from what follows, there is a burgeoning portfolio of business support which Members can access to grow their businesses.
The TTF is growing and I would encourage anyone involved in the wood industry to join us. The more Members we have, the more political weight we carry and the more influence we have.
