Technical Support

From simple enquiries to sourcing products and services, through to more complex information, TTF staff have the knowledge and contacts to help your business. We value Members’ enquiries as an important means to monitor issues affecting the trade on a day-to-day basis. If it concerns you, then it concerns us. Our Membership fee enables us to promote timber and wood-based products generically, providing architects and designers with the information they need to specify the products being sold by our Members.

Public Affairs

A major benefit of Membership is the Federation’s role as the corporate voice of the timber industry, through which it promotes the industry to a wide variety of external audiences. The TTF maintains regular contact with Ministers, MPs (including within the EU), peers, civil servants and local authorities. The Federation also has close contact with a variety of trade publications, which it supplies with editorial, as well as environmental correspondents from television, radio and the broadsheet press. jwhite@ttf.co.uk / Tel: 07921 726212

Networking

The TTF provides ample opportunities to meet other traders (importers, merchants, shippers, agents, etc) in a variety of forums. Regular meetings are held at the TTF offices where the trade meets NGOs and governmental officials to discuss topical issues. It also hosts a variety of social events, from informal gatherings to formal dinners. The TTF Area Associations meet regularly to discuss local issues, as well as holding local social events.

Area Associations Within the TTF, there are several strong Area Associations. These Associations represent the trade in a given region. They also act as a channel of communication between the Federation and its Members. Each Area meeting is regularly attended by a member of the TTF staff, listening to local views and updating the Area on current TTF projects. The TTF also provides speakers on general issues, as well as an update on the services it provides. The Areas host their own social activities, which enable Members to entertain their customers locally. jrennie@ttf.co.uk / Tel: 0207 291 5372

Workshops

The TTF runs workshops throughout the year on a number of topics. Notice of these workshops are posted on the website and featured in the Enews. If there are any other services you feel would benefit your business but are not listed here, then do please get in touch with Jean Rennie. Further services are being investigated and will be launched through our website at www.ttf.co.uk over the coming months. jrennie@ttf.co.uk / Tel: 0207 291 5372 hvh@ttf.co.uk / Tel: 0207 291 5377
