MDF
Medium Density Fibreboard – a sheet material / panel product where very small wood fibres are mixed with glue, spread out into sheets and then dried.
MO
Monitoring Organisation. An organisation that establishes a Due Diligence System, approved by the European Commission, and makes it available for businesses to use, usually for a fee.
MTC
Malaysian Timber Council – the Malaysian industry’s promotional campaign.
MTCC
Malaysian Timber Certification Council MTCS
Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme. A PEFC Endorsed Scheme.
MTIB
Malaysian Timber Industry Board. MTIB’s objective is to promote and co-ordinate the overall development of the timber industry.

Oriented Strand Board – a sheet material / panel product where slivers of wood are oriented and glued together.
PAS111
Is a Publicly Available Specification from BSI (see above). It provides a specification for individuals and organisations that recover and process post-industrial and post-consumer waste wood into wood products such that potential customers can be assured that they are procuring a material of consistent and verifiable quality

Publicly Available Specification “Exercising due diligence in establishing the legal origin of timber and timber products – Guide to Regulation (EU) No 995/2010”
PAS 2050
Publicly Available Specification by British Standard Institution to assess greenhouse gas emissions for the lifecycle of products and services.
PAS 2060
Publicly Available Specification by the British Standard Institution for the demonstration of carbon neutrality.
