will most certainly have a plan. Your representatives in each vice-president will also have a plan. We have a plan called a “Constitution and By-laws” which we can follow.
It
is essentially the same as what we have at the state level with some adaptations made by your representatives. While firm, the Constitution does allow for change and change will be necessary in the coming years. Change isn’t bad; it’s necessary most of the time.
Thanks for the opportunity to learn and work with the northeast district. It has been an eye-opening experience with plenty of opportunity to see how MMEA works from the board of directors perspective. I’m excited about the future of the northeast district for a variety of reasons. Our attendance actually increased after we eliminated the breakfast, to a record-breaking 65. We made some serious changes in our organization and had our first annual NEMMEA summer “meet and greet” for new and not-so-new teachers. Most of all I’m excited about the folks who are the northeast district and the master teachers and great people that have been elected as their representatives.
Finally, enjoy the culmination of your efforts as a music teacher in these last months of school. Start reflecting on what worked and change what didn’t. Seek out colleagues and find out what worked for them. Enjoy this time and remember to set aside time for your family and yourself.
