Eating at the Festival


There will, of course, be some great food to be had in the exhibitor marquees, Royal Avenue Gardens and all across the Festival throughout the day but here are a few other ideas of where you might eat at the Festival this year. Many restaurants will be running special menus and other events but these are the ones who’ve published plans already.

This event last year saw Jane Baxter and Christine Smallwood present an amazing array of the best Umbrian produce and wine during what turned into a fantastic long lunch. For one night only the Dartmouth Community Café will become a venue for London’s famous Secret Larder pop-up supper club. Food writer, journalist and chef, James Ramsden will create a supper from produce found at the Festival market. Attending the dinner will be all the visiting writers from this year’s ‘Eat Your Words’. Join them for a wonderful evening of great food and conversation. Tickets £25. Whilst the Children’s Festival is in full swing in the Gardens the rest of us can enjoy tea, scones and cakes from the Dartmouth Caring Fundraising Marquee.
