2013 a Good Year So Far for Alabama Specialty Shop
Things are going well at
Ken’s Car Tunes in Mobile, Ala., and certain good changes have taken place, said President Ken Stafford. In April, he finished replacing
his new POS system in all three of his locations. The stores now have new computers, printers, software, and handheld and wireless scanners, among other things. The new system comes in handy considering the booming marine business he’s had. “Our marine business is
exceeding our expectations,” said Stafford, whose store is also a
certified dealer for many marine electronics brands such as Low- rance, Garmin and Simrad. What also helps him garner a lot of marine business is his store’s proximity to popular, local rivers, as well as the ocean. His two stores in Mobile, Ala., are about 30 miles away from Dol- phin Island and about an hour’s drive to Gulf Shores. The third shop is in Pensacola, Fla. Additionally, two of his stores’
exteriors are in the process of being remodeled. “It seems like this was the year to do a lot of changes,” Stafford said.
