Windfarm Awards
It’s that time again!
Each year, Scottish and Southern Energy awards some £14,000 to the Community Council area of Dunblane through the Braes of Doune Windfarm Community benefit.
This money is distributed to local Community Groups by the local Windfarm committee in October and the deadline for this year’s applications will be Thursday 19th September.
Guidelines on making an application and the 2013/14 application forms can be found on the Community Council section of Dunblaneweb.

Children making a difference
Unlike actors, the DDT’s Environment Group volunteers appreciate the opportunity to work with children and have been initiating and raising funds for several joint ventures recently.
First there was the community garden at the Primary School, then the Beavers helped to replant the garden at the Millrow playpark, and finally the seniors and juniors of the Cathedral Sunday School planted vegetables, herbs and edible flowers in containers at the Braeport on successive Sundays in May.
On the same theme, the Midweek Group and Environment Group volunteers joined forces to create an ‘outdoor classroom’ beside the Allan Water in the Haugh using stumps from fallen poplars. Check it out!
News just in... The Environment Group has been given planning consent to erect a board with a tourist map at the entrance to the Haining Car Park.
The answer to the riddle about the crocodile catching tool...
it is a lawn rake; strong
enough to close the croc’s mouth but difficult to grab as the teeth pass between the wires which confuses the animal. Like all tools, it is not fool-proof!
