LYNX Fishing restructures for 2013 challenges
Tackle-trade newcomer LYNX Fishing – the name behind knotless technology – has made some signifi cant changes at the top as it prepares for an increased assault on the market. Last year was a whirlwind
year for the Alnwick-based manufacturer as it launched its patented Precision Compression Technology into the UK and European sea and predator sectors. Alongside a healthy array of
complementary new products for 2013, as well as one or two highly innovative off erings, the pioneering brand has made changes to the original start-up team, in a move it says is designed to bolster the management. New CEO Bill Germaney
has joined from outside the fi shing sector, having spent a career running businesses
involved in specialist engineering such as Rolls-Royce. Bill (pictured), a degree-level
engineer, will bring a mixture of engineering process management and robust business-planning skills to LYNX to steer it through its formative months and years. Bill said: “To be involved in a
project with such an exciting new technology is an opportunity I’m extremely enthusiastic about. “T e LYNX team has done
an excellent job to date setting up the infrastructure and establishing the brand across the UK and EU, and I’m very much looking forward to guiding the company through the next stage of its development.” New sales director Anthony

Equestrian trade show BETA International 2013 is to introduce a Chill Out Zone for weary visitors and exhibitors at the February event. T e area, dedicated to relaxation and
entertainment, will feature old-fashioned fairground attractions, massage therapists and resident show artist Kate Scurfi eld, who will off er cartoons and caricatures. Claire T omas, commercial manager
of Equestrian Management Consultants (EMC), the organiser of BETA International, said: “We are always looking for ways in which to improve the trade-fair experience for our visitors and we felt that the Chill Out Zone complemented the busy show perfectly.” It will operate throughout all three
days of the show – from February 17th to 19th, at the NEC, Birmingham.

Ed grows his role in carp market at Greys
Well-known angler and current Greys & Chub Carp Academy manager Ed Betteridge has been appointed carp marketing manager, as Andy Charlton steps down. Ed has been a

to concentrate on parental duties. He said: “I’ve worked with Ed for all of 2012 and he was an obvious choice to take up the role when I announced that I was leaving. Ed possesses a single-minded approach that gets the job done, and his wealth of angling knowledge is exceptional. I have no doubts that he’ll do a brilliant job as carp marketing manager.”
