pets offer soothing corals, sea foam greens and aquatic blues. Furniture is very rustic with lots of hewn heavy woods. It all culminated into a spectacu- lar maritime outside view through the huge 40-foot high marina-facing win- dows that feature the gem-blue of the waterway.

My room within this Four Diamond resort - a comfy and spacious enclave - beheld the same dramatic panoramas. Thus, my drapes were never drawn during my short overnight visit. Those twinkling lights at night followed by a breathtaking dawn offered me a million dollar view.

Cari Ruppert, who is most enthusiastic yet entirely-too-serene (considering she has three single digit-aged kids), is the Associate Director of Sales for the prop- erty. She took me on a tour, starting with the event spaces at the Hyatt.

The collateral she provided lists a total of 35,000-square feet of function space, including the 11,000-plus square foot Chesapeake Ballroom, and 24 meeting and banquet rooms - all decorated with those serene woods and carpets. But these figures only tell a small portion of the event capabilities of this spectacular property. Its outer spaces offer practical- ly limitless venue opportunities: expan- sively lush lawns, sweeping flagstone patios, hilltop respite areas, hidden decks, and a stunning sunset-facing gazebo are all incredible alfresco oppor- tunities for groups of varying sizes.

Plus, add to that square footage count the capabilities within each of the Hyatt’s restaurants, and you have literally weeks- worth of events options.

Ah, those restaurants...

Helmed by Executive Chef Tony Breeze, a 40 year veteran of the industry (11 of those years as regional executive chef at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco), the

dining and entertainment facilities he oversees range from casual - the dock- side pool bar - to exceptionally fine dining - Water’s Edge Grill, which has a sea- tinged menu that matches its own unpar- alleled views. Each provides yet more group or individual places in which to meet.

My own dinner took a short two-minute (complimentary) shuttle ride over to Blue Point Provision Company, a modern, casual-to-the-eye - yet spectacular on the plate - seafood-centric dining experi- ence in a dramatic space with its own high-reaching window sight lines and outer decks for sipping, supping and watching those docking yachts in the calm harbor just beyond.

Like the other restaurants on this Hyatt property, Blue Point, which specializes in the bounty of the sea, prides itself on the
