upcoming meetings in Philadelphia. We provide customizable e-mail templates to help drive attendance to your upcoming meeting in Philadelphia. We provide an award-winning welcome program, includ- ing banners, signage, welcome desks at hotels, buttons for host hotels, and more, available to citywide conventions.”
Edward adds that the bureau can serve as a liaison with the City of Philadelphia for offi- cial proclamations and appearances by the mayor, as well as provide public relations support to assist with local publicity.
Edward goes on to note a few instances in which the Philadelphia CVB teamed up with partners to create successful events.
“Our convention services team was able to broker two creative partnerships with the Philadelphia Horticultural Society (PHS) and the Mural Arts Program at a reception for the National Safety Council (NSC) in the Pennsylvania Convention Center,”
says
Edward. “The Mural Arts Program provided a blank canvas at the reception, which attendees were then able to design. Also, as part of a community give-back effort, PHS offered plants at the NSC reception, which attendees could sponsor.”
The Philadelphia CVB also has contacted churches to inquire about Easter and Passover services for planners and their attendees. Edward describes some other interesting opportunities with which they were able to assist planners. “Our team has provided recommendations for a parking lot space suitable for holding a large toma- to-throwing battle. We have provided rec- ommendations for a free or low cost audi- torium at which to host 1,000 people for a magic show. We also have provided unique venue recommendations for cooking demonstrations led by client provided chefs for patients with a rare medical con- dition.”
Another interesting partnership was when the bureau provided a nighttime tour of art and light installations for a prospective lighting industry client. The CVB welcomes the opportunity to partner with event visi- tors in creating a perfect event and a trip to Philadelphia they won’t soon forget.
At the end of the day, regardless of their needs, planners can turn to con- vention and visitors bureaus with confidence, knowing that these CVBs are avail- able with a wide range of helpful services that can help bolster any event and elevate it to new heights.
