transportation; there’s excellent variety of housing options; there’s a hotel-casino complex with 100,000-square feet of meet- ing space; and a 240,000-square foot expo center. And it offers that diversity of prod- uct and ease of accessibility in a charming, yet bustling and green suburban locale, one that’s close-to but not in a large city with the higher costs normally associated with urban centers.”
Decker adds that all of the hotels and meet- ing facilities in the Valley Forge area offer free parking, too.
“We’re also unique in that we’re a first class, full-service CVB in a third-level market,” says Decker. “Our experienced, award-win- ning services manager delivers the promise we make to meeting planners for a ‘one- stop shop.’ Regardless of a group’s size or market segment, our objective is to be the local expert that makes every event our destination hosts a successful one.”
The Valley Forge CVB also recently added to its services arsenal MeetingMax, an online housing system that provides plan- ners with a custom-designed website for their event that’s tailored to its needs and to those of its attendees. “The program allows delegates and attendees to book rooms at their preferred hotel option,” says Decker, “while offering the CVB, planner and hotels a trouble-free manner of keeping track of these bookings.”
As another service, the bureau’s communi- cations department helps planners and show producers to promote their events through media relations efforts that call out to local media outlets with interesting busi- ness stories about them or any human interest angles they represent. “Our help runs the gamut of publicity services,” noted Decker,
“from just putting the parties
together to actually developing press releases and feature stories for them.”
In the role of local hospitality expert, the Valley Forge CVB determines what plan- ners need in a destination or in a specific facility or property in Valley Forge. “To assist, we provide the ‘usual suspects’ of col- lateral materials, references to our online presence, and we seek to determine their non-negotiable needs, as well as those amenities that make Valley Forge and
