Newham Borough-Wide Courses

The London Borough of Newham (LBN) works in partnership with the schools, colleges and training providers in the borough to offer Newham students in Years 9 to 11 a wide range of additional courses to choose that may not be available at their school.

These are vocational courses involving a more practical or ‘hands on’ style of learning. Each course is related to key employment sectors, including:

l Hospitality l Hair & Beauty l Creative & Media l Construction l Engineering l Retail

If your child chooses to study one of these courses, they will come out of school for one day a week, to study at a specialist training provider, who has the skills, expertise and resources to help them work towards achieving a recognised qualification in their chosen employment sector. For more information about these courses, take a look at the Newham Borough Wide Course pages in this magazine and/or speak to the school’s Deputy Head Teacher.
