Penn National opens Ohio’s second casino bringing a touch of movie-themed glamour to the US$320m new location
Penn National opened Ohio’s second casino at the end of May when it rolled out the red-carpet for its highly- anticipated movie-themed Hollywood Casino Toledo, just two weeks after the state’s first casino opened in downtown Cleveland.
Bringing a taste of Hollywood to Ohio, the $320m state-of-the-art casino is decorated in classic movie posters from the Golden Age of Hollywood featuring film icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor, Tony Curtis and Humphrey Bogart.
The 125,000-foot gaming floor features more than 2,000 slot machines. Pop culture TV- and movie-themed slots include Wheel-of-Fortune, The Wizard of
Oz, The Hangover, Tarzan, Ghostbusters and The Dark Knight. Hollywood is also the only casino in the region to offer the new Breakfast at Tiffany’s slot machine from IGT.
There are also 60 live table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, Mini Baccarat, Dragon Bonus Mini Baccarat, Crazy 4 Poker, Mississippi Stud, Ultimate Texas Hold 'em, Fortune Pai Gow, Let it Ride Bonus and Three-Card poker (a progressive).
Hollywood's semi-exclusive high limit table games area is adjacent to the high limit slots area whilst the casino’s Poker Room features a further 20 gaming tables, offering variations of Texas Hold 'em and Omaha.
“The facility's decor and atmosphere is true to the
Hollywood name. From the moment guests walk in the building, they’re
immersed in the sophistication of classic 1930s
Hollywood with
complementary state-of-the-art technology that
seamlessly blends vintage with modern.”
RICHARD ST. JEAN, General Manager, Hollywood Casino Toledo.
Following hot on the heels of the opening of Ohio’s first gaming floor at the Horseshoe casino, a property part-owned by Caesars Entertainment, Penn says there is room for both as they are two hours apart. The Toledo casino is more likely to compete for customers with the three Detroit casinos just an hour’s drive to the north.
Penn National is also developing the casino in Columbus that is expected to open in autumn.
Hollywood Casino Toledo General Manager Richard St. Jean, added: “The facility’s decor and atmosphere is true to the Hollywood name. From the moment guests walk in the building, they’re immersed in the sophistication of classic 1930s Hollywood with complementary state-of-the-art technology that seamlessly blends vintage with modern. These design and entertainment features, coupled with our renowned red carpet treatment delivered by Hollywood team members, offers a memorable and entertaining experience for guests with every visit.”
