An Evening at the Opera for Todos Juntos Javea.
[
On Easter Sunday more than one hundred members and friends of Todos Juntos Javea went to a performance of the
world famous Puccini opera, Tosca in the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia. The opera was conducted by Omer Meir Wellber and the lead roles were performed by Oksana Dyka as Tosca, Jorge de Leon as Cavaradossi and Marco Vratogna as Scarpia. A long-standing ovation showed the exceptional quality of the performance. The evening continued with a special Cava Reception during which the Todos Juntos Javea members were able to meet the conductor and actors and talk to them about this unique event. For many this was their first introduction to opera. The reaction was unanimous “For sure not the last time,” and so Todos Juntos Javea have decided to make this an annual event. A few days before the event John Deacon, in co-operation with Concerts Costa Blanca, gave an introductory talk about the opera. This is an organisation which aims to show the population of the Costa Blanca the many possibilities available for visiting concerts and operas. His enthusiasm and knowledge about Tosca set the scene perfectly for a wonderful evening. Todos Juntos Javea is very grateful to John for his help and looks forward to working with him again in the future. The financial benefit from this event, approximately Euro 4.000,00, could only be realised due to the fantastic contribution and co-operation of Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia.

“Music Hall Memories” Concert is a big success for Teulada/Moraira Lions Club.
[
On Saturday 21st April entertainers Barry Britten and Chris Allen performed their brand new show “Music Hall Memories” to an enthusiastic audience in a packed La Senieta theatre in Moraira. Barry and Chris recalled music hall songs and singers going back as far as the 1880s. Their inimitable style of singing the songs combined with wit and banter as they told many anecdotes of performers who trod the boards so many years ago, delighted the audience. Many of the songs they sung are still well known, but others, as Barry said as he closed the show, were “new” to us even though they were “old”. The concert, which was organised by the Teulada/Moraira Lions, raised over 1000€ which will go to helping different local needs. The photo shows Barry and Chris with Lion John Snell, thanking them after the show.
mother said he has rosy cheeks that he never had before and has energy to play like any other 3 year old. It is wonderful to see The Family Fund make a difference in this little boy’s life. While in Moldova we also visited the family of a wonderful young lad with cerebral palsy, The Family Fund assisted this family with the purchase of a washing machine, this is not the kind of request we normally receive but after visiting the family and observing their situation we felt it was the right thing to do. The funds are in place to continue the potato planting project in the extremely poor outlying villages, this will mean a source of food for the families involved in the project and for the 52 day centres caring for children. Many thanks to all who contributed to the special offering taken at The Kings Church last month. Please go to

On Saturday 14th April, the Teulada/ Moraira Lions Club were invited by the organisers of the San Vicent Ferrer fiestas to take part in the flower offering procession through the village of Teulada. Many local organisations such as sports clubs and the Amas de Casas take part in the annual event in which members of the organisations walk with bunches of flowers through the village to the San Vicent Ferrer Chapel where flowers are placed around the tiled picture of San Vicent Ferrer. The Lions Club feels very honoured to be invited to take part, and the organisers expressed their
