Javea Bridge Club’s Best Behaviour Will ‘Be Nice’ For Charity
The strong fit between Bay Radio’s Be Nice Day and Javea Bridge Club’s ‘Best Behaviour’ Code of Conduct, inspired the club to run special activities on Sunday 6th May
and raise money for MABS and Caritas.
From 11am until 1.30pm, it’s Open House with coffee, cakes, and taster lessons. At 3pm, Be Nice Pairs followed by tapas and a raffle. Membership Secretary Peter Eastwood commented: “We hope people will drop in to see us. Our members are of many nationalities and visitors are always welcomed - we’ll find partners, if needed.” President Derrick Holdback explained: “Bridge is usually a friendly game, but occasionally brings out the competitive streak in players. We expect players to follow ‘Best Behaviour at Bridge’ guidelines which encourage courtesy and respect of others. At this fundraising event, ‘on the spot’ fines for being ‘Not Nice’ will increase what we raise for charity!” Javea Bridge Club runs tournaments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and most Saturdays, and has a number of special events during the year. Regular programmes of lessons for beginners and improvers provide a steady progression towards playing at club sessions.
