Επίσηµος συνεργάτης του America’s Cup. H Sailors for the Sea στα πλαίσια των αγώνων έχει εντάξει το πρόγραµµα Clean Regattas µε στόχο την ενηµέρωση, την δράση και την περιβαλλοντική ευαισθητοποίηση. Αναφορικά µε το Americas Cup, η οργάνωση φροντίζει να πιστοποιήσει ότι κάθε οργανωτής Όµιλος διαθέτει τις προϋποθέσεις και είναι περιβαλλοντικά ενήµερος και φροντίζει την περιοχή διεξαγωγής. Η δράση δηµιουργεί τις προϋποθέσεις ώστε να εργαστούµε όλοι ώστε να χαιρόµαστε εµείς και οι επόµενες γενιές τις θαλάσσιες δραστηριότητες.


Sailors for the Sea is the official sustainability partner of the 34th America’s Cup. The America’s Cup Event Authority (ACEA) has partnered with the ocean conservation organi- zation to reach people worldwide who have an affinity for the ocean to motivate actions that can improve ocean health. Clean Regattas certification provides independent, third-par- ty verification that a yacht club, sailing program, or regatta is environmentally responsible, and is doing its utmost to protect the waters upon which people sail. By making the Clean Regattas Pledge, regattas, yacht clubs commit to pro- tecting clean waters and shores. Participants vow to fulfil, and encourage others to fulfil, the goals and requirements of Clean Regattas, and to work to protect waters for the use and enjoyment of this and future generations.

Πανευρωπαϊκός ∆ιαγωνισµός ταινίας µικρού µήκους για τη Θάλασσα


H HELMEPA ανακοινώσε διαγωνισµό ταινίας µικρού µήκους ή ντοκιµαντέρ για παιδιά και νέους µε τίτλο “Η Θάλασσα και Εµείς – ∆εσµοί µεταξύ των Ωκεανών και Kαθηµερινών µας ∆ραστηριοτήτων”. Το ∆ιαγωνισµό διοργανώνει το Ευρωπαϊκό Κέντρο Πληροφόρησης για τις Θαλάσσιες Επιστήµες και την Τεχνολογία «EurOcean» µε έδρα την Πορτογαλία προς τιµήν του πρώτου Προέδρου, δρ. Màrio Ruivo σε αναγνώριση του έργου του στον τοµέα των θαλάσσιων επιστηµών σε διεθνές επίπεδο.


Short movie contest


The Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association - HELMEPA announces the short movie contest for children and youth titled “Seas and us - Links between Ocean and Daily Life Activities”. The Contest is organized by the European Centre for Information on Marine Science and Technology - EurOcean, based in Portugal, as a tribute to the first Presi- dent of EurOcean, Professor Mario Ruivo, in recognition of his work on the sciences of the sea and marine research at national, European and international level.

Environmental Ocean Team

Εκκίνησε ο περίπλους µε στόχο την µελέτη των ωκεανών από το λιµάνι La Spezia της Ιταλίας. Πλήρωµα του σκάφους Kaitek είναι η επιστηµονική οµάδα που θα πραγµατοποιήσει τις µελέτες σε συνεργασία µε φορείς και ερευνητικά κέντρα. Το πρόγραµµα έχει διάρκεια 4 χρόνων.


A unique, round-the-world sailing expedition that will monitor the marine environment in all the Earth’s oceans, started from La Spezia, Northern Italy on Saturday 24 September. The yacht, Kaitek will circumnavigate the globe on a four-year voy- age gathering data for oceanographic research. The project was conceived by Environmental Ocean Team (EOT), a company created to bring together the worlds of science and recreational sailing by using yachts as environmentally friendly platforms for oceanographic research, and to share findings with the wider public.
