track and ‘Fair Weather Friend” are sublime, moving and heartfelt without a trace of the maudlin. They close with the lovely “Take Me Away”, but even after four decades of making great music and Sherman’s recent cancer bout, you gotta disclaim the lyrics and assume more stellar albums are forthcoming from these guys. They cover all the genres, all
the moods and all the emotions – upbeat and funky, soulful and sensuous, undone and redeemed. Check them out to enjoy their
unique jambalaya of soulful, countrified gospel rhythm and blues.

bittersweet moments throughout as the personalities of the individuals who make up the squad reveal themselves, for better or for worse. Bang The Drum Slowly was
made into a movie with Michael Moriarty and a young Robert De Niro in the key roles. It was well done but, like most movies adapted from novels, it’s almost impossible to capture the detail and nuances of the book in two short hours. Needless to say, this short,
sweet novel is a worthy read, one that runs the gamut of emotions. The final sentence alone is a
life lesson for all of us. Written in the vernacular
Harris employs so well throughout, our narrator closes: “From here on in I rag nobody.” It is powerful and profound,
just like the novel. OOOO out of five

the Ride For Dad will launch its second annual snowmobile ride in support of prostate cancer research and awareness. Building on more than 10
years of success with the Motorcycle Ride For Dad, the Snowmobile Ride for Dad will bring together snowmobilers from Pembroke and the Ottawa Valley who will ride their sleds to raise funds to fight Canada’s most common men’s cancer – prostate cancer. With almost 100 participants, last

2000 with the Motorcycle Ride For Dad, Canada’s largest annual motorcycle event dedicated to fighting prostate cancer through research and awareness. From its humble beginnings, the Ride For Dad has
grown to include rides in 29 cities, and plans are underway for several more. Now in its 10th year, more than 250,000 men, women and children have been involved, raising more than $8 million to fight prostate cancer. Join us in the fight against prostate
