guess he’s also a retired cop. Surely this face was tough once. It must have been. He dealt with drug dealers, bikers, fraudsters and murderers. He was awarded a medal of valour. But then again, he was undercover most of that time. Maybe it was his great face that allowed him to get into people’s lives and put them at ease. He greets you with a warm


handshake at his country home way back in the boonies near White Lake, Ont. And right away he starts talking. Bruce is a talker. The thing he likes to talk about


most of all are ducks. “His” ducks, he calls them. He goes out on his deck overlooking the lake at six in the morning and watches them as they fly into the bay. “It’s my treat of the whole day,” he says. He feeds them. He understands them. He respects them. And he hunts them. He has hunted them since he was eight years old. Great artists often create the things


they love most. Bruce carves some of the prettiest ducks and decoys you’ll ever see in your life. This isn’t just an
