or the UK’s commercial pool and spa market, LIW – Leisure Industry Week – is a critically timed show.

and owners are still under pressure to find revenue generating ideas to attract more swimmers but more critically find energy saving systems, more efficiencies and as many ideas as they can to cut costs.

LIW has reacted to these needs and the 2011 event has a more appealing feel to it as far as the pool and spa trade is concerned. This year’s event will offer new features spanning the commercial pool and spa industry, from swimwear fashion shows to artificial wave machines and trade bodies engaged with construction and supply.

This focus on practical advice will continue with IQL UK, experts in swimming pool safety management and aquatic supervision, who return to LIW this year. They manage the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) on behalf of the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS UK) and will be making an important announcement at the show. Tara Dillon, Executive Director of IQL UK said: “We’re launching something very exciting at LIW 2011 which will be hugely important for those working within our industry. LIW is the perfect platform for us to get in front of those key people

that employ lifeguards and use our qualifications. We will be running a seminar at the show on Tuesday 20 September where all will be revealed.” Leisure operators looking to diversify their business practices and encourage secondary spend will have the opportunity to learn how to deliver safe, effective and profitable spa business solutions at the Spa Business Association Supplier Showcase, supported by Topaz Consulting. This area will offer the chance for visitors to meet experts in the spa field and source new products on the market. Topaz consulting will also support the LIW Spa Seminar in association with the SPA Business Association.
