POLLET’S INTELLIFLO TECHNOLOGY
AHEAD OF THE CO2 EMISSIONS GAME
The pool industry is always on the lookout for environmentally friendly products and due to the pumps extremely low operation noise it indirectly impacts in the reduction of CO2 emissions.
SRBA-QUALITY STONE POOL SURROUNDS
The Pollet Pool Group have really excelled themselves with their fantastic SRBA stonework for pool surrounds, coping finishes and patio areas including matching skimmer lids, overflow grating and shower bases.
These products are painstakingly manufactured to a level of quality not previously found and offer a complete range of corresponding coping stones and pool surrounds. The stones contain metallic oxides so
as to age as beautifully as they would in a completely natural environment and they are as hard wearing as they are handsome.
There are excellent marketing tools such as stunning posters, display stands and quality literature available for showroom use. With large UK stocks always available these are a must for any pool. SRBA pricing is a further revelation as although the look shouts “expensive” they are in fact
extremely sensibly priced. SRBA describe their stonework as; “When the modern patina meets the traditional spirit” and this certainly sums up a beautiful collection that will perfect any indoor or outdoor pool or leisure area.

NEW SWIM LESSON SOFTWARE AIMS TO HELP POOL MANAGERS
New software which allows commercial and leisure centre pool managers to save time on swimming lesson administration has been launched on the market after a successful trial.
Leisure and cultural trust BH Live has introduced swimming lesson software CoursePro following a successful pilot phase at another of its pools. CoursePro, developed by leisure trust and social enterprise Tone and
software specialist Cap2 Solutions, was fully launched at Stokewood Leisure Centre in Bournemouth with the aim of significantly reducing the amount of time the centre spends on swimming lesson organisation and administration. It had been trialled at Pelhams Park Leisure Centre in Bournemouth from January 2011 and following positive feedback the decision was taken to roll it out.
CoursePro is an application that, handles everything from organising lessons to updating the progress of each child and producing detailed reports is handled within the system. Swimming instructors feed up-to-the-minute data into the system via iPod Touches whilst on poolside, eliminating the need for follow up paperwork and manual reporting.
It also means that pupils can join a 50-week per year swimming programme at any point and move through levels completely at their own pace, without needing to wait for the start of a new term. Parents and swimmers can log in remotely via a dedicated website,
checkmyprogress.co.uk, to check swimming lesson progress and can move up to the next level online.

Since Pollet introduced Pentair’s IntelliFlo® pump into the UK pool market in 2008, the variable speed technology of these pumps is still unique to our pool market. Regardless of some efforts from other pump manufacturers, IntelliFlo® pumps are still the only variable speed and now variable flow pool pumps available.
The IntelliFlo® technology is capable of offering energy saving, up to 90% less energy consumption versus a conventional one speed pump, and greater energy efficiency compared to 2 or 3 speed pumps. With its 305 programmable speeds, the IntelliFlo® can replace any pump in the field, so for example one pump has the same performance of 305 pumps! This will also offer versatility because only one pump is required for several applications. The pump is adaptable to any scenario so that when the end consumer wants to add an extra application to its pool such as a heater, fountain or pool cleaner, one just has to slightly increase the motor RPM so that the pump will deliver a greater flow. This saves having to install a second pump to give extra flow, or to fine-tune the opening of the valves. This is also increased due to the ultra high efficiency motor (totally enclosed fan cooled technology) which means the pump can run 24/7 with reduced heat loss and will also improve the lifetime of the pump.
