UPDATE: The latest news from BISHTA and SPATA
These updates are usually notified to BISHTA and SPATA members via their respective electronic newsletter sent out every week. Some of the items not mentioned elsewhere in this edition are included below
WEBSITES SET TO WORK HARDER FOR MEMBERS
The PIP Committee has been negotiating with both SPATA and BISHTA to carry out some much needed Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) on the respective websites. We want to look at the options which will enable us to get more visibility for the sites in search engine results pages. The work will get underway very shortly and then be monitored for a period of time to see how effective it has been for raising the profile of the sites using some key word phrases.
SPATA STRENGTHENS CLIENT PAPERWORK
SPATA members can now benefit from two useful pieces of paperwork to help them in day to day dealings with customers, adding to their professional and formal systems. They are free of charge to pick up.
The first is a standard Client Communication Form setting out a formal record of a conversation or discussion.
The second is a Contractor’s Practical Completion Certificate form which is a fuller document setting out an agreement schedule from the client, plus agreed warranties and any outstanding snagging issues to be resolved. Both are being well received, especially by members who do not have this type of paperwork specifically themselves. The feedback is that it puts a more rigid system in place. Both forms are voluntary to use and are available on request from the SPATA office.
CHELTENHAM TO HOST UK POOL & SPA CONFERENCE AND DINNER
The annual meetings for BSPF, SPATA and BISHTA will form the focal point of a high profile industry day on Friday 23 September.
The three AGMs will offer members an outstanding opportunity to bring themselves fully up to date with events and developments across all three associations , to ask any questions and obviously to get feedback in the efforts to improve service to members. It’s also a great networking day.
The venue will be the Barcelo Cheltenham Park Hotel, an elegant country house hotel in Cheltenham. The 4 star hotel is ideally located for Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. The hotel is less than two miles from Cheltenham town centre, and sits in landscaped grounds on the edge of the Cotswolds.
The hotel offers 152 bedrooms and 10 meeting rooms for up to 320 delegates. The day, which starts at 11am with the BISHTA annual meeting, has been organised to include important training sessions to improve company performances.
A keynote speaker on the day will be Paul Sutton, Head of Social and Digital Media for BOTTLE PR who will talk on the commercial opportunities of businesses being involved in social networking.
The final highlight of a full day will be an anniversary dinner organised for a double celebration which brings together both trade associations. The dinner will celebrate SPATA’s 50th and BISHTA’s 10th anniversaries with a three course meal plus entertainment at what promises to be a memorable industry event.
WARRANTY SCHEME DEVELOPMENTS FOR BISHTA
Discussions are at an early stage about an exciting opportunity to offer an extended generic warranty scheme from BISHTA members to their hot tub clients. There will be ample time to generate further ideas and to see if there is support within the industry for this type of product.
