Me to You… editor@outandaboutmagazine.com

orgeous (though some- times too hot) weather is finally here, encouraging all of us to get out there and have some fun. So, in the spirit of the season, Out & About is holding a little contest. We are inviting our readers to tell us what they would do with a free full tank of gas.

Who would you go with? Is there a story behind why you would go there? Maybe it’s someplace you have just always wanted to see, but never made the time? The winning submission will receive a check for $50 to help fill the tank as well as a number of great prizes, selected to compliment their trip. To help spur your imagination we are featuring a few day trip ideas of our own this month. When you live in one of the loveliest climates in the world and a short drive from both big city fun and total isolation, there is no end to the places you can go. Some will require a bit of money to be spent, okay, some quite a bit of money, but others can be done for very little.

Submissions have to be for someplace you could go to on just that one tank of gas. Deadline for submitting your entry is July 15. Please send it to me at editor@outandaboutmagazine.com or snail mail it to Out & About, 60 Fourth St., Gilroy, CA 95020. You may sub- mit as many trip ideas as you like. Include a photo if you have one, but make sure you don’t need it back as we will keep all submissions. We will use some of the entries in our August issue and announce the winner. This one takes only about an hour of your time, but I highly recommend it, farmers markets. We have a new one in Gilroy on Sunday mornings from 10am to 2pm on the corner of Monterey and Seventh Streets. Please come down and buy from these hard working farmers as well as a selection of every changing artisans. Gilroy has tried to get a market going in the past, but it just hasn’t taken hold. We want this one to succeed. Come pick up those juicy peaches and apricots, picked ripe from the trees and full of the flavor you just don’t get in the store.

Happy 4th of July! Sylvia Wallace Myrvold www.outandaboutmagazine.com
