Sierra Azul Half-Marathon Challenge and 10K—Troy Racing Half-Marathon/8:30am 10K/8:45am Sierra Azul, Los Gatos. Set in the Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve, this one of a kind non-timed run- ning event provides unique access to gorgeous trails and scenery not commonly viewed. 100% trail/fire road. The half-marathon challenge course has plenty of steep climbs and exposure to make sure you get a fantastic workout. The 10K course is extremely runnable, a great introduction to California trail running.

Morgan Hill’s 4th of July 5K Run and Kids’ 1-Mile @ 7:45am P.A. Walsh Elementary School 353 West Main Street, Morgan Hill The course is flat and fast through parade route through downtown Morgan Hill - many of the parade spectators will be along the course and will be cheering you on!

39th Annual Wharf to Wharf Race Run, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Wharf 21 Municipal Wharf. The meander- ing race route along scenic Monterey Bay plays no small part in the popularity of this run. Starting at the Santa Cruz Wharf at 8:30am, the race opens with a dash down Beach Street, passing the Ferris Wheel, roller coaster and merry- go-round of the world famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Runners then cross the San Lorenzo Bridge and loop around the Yacht Harbor to Twin Lakes Beach.
August 7
The Carmel Valley Fiesta Run is back for 2011 using last year's course and starting location. This is a beautiful and scenic 7.7-mile trail race held at Garland Ranch Regional Park. The terrain is often rugged, steep, and challenging. @ 7:30am, Garland Ranch Regional Park, 700 West Carmel Valley Road Fees $35. Registration Closing Date Friday, August 05, 2011 @ 11:59pm Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 13-19, 20-29, 30- 39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. In addi- tion, a custom, artisan made medal will be awarded to the overall male and overall female winners.
