IN THEIR OWN WORDS Mango Street Kids T

hree and a half years ago, while sitting in traffic, late again to pick up my kids, I decided I needed to find a career closer to home. I knew I wanted to be part of the community and do something that would anchor us to where we live. So began the idea for Mango Street Kids, and a year later we opened the doors. Mango Street Kids is a children’s resale shop where you

can buy, sell, and trade all things baby. We carry clothing from newborn to size 8 and we will soon be expanding to size 14. We also carry maternity, books, toys, shoes, and equip- ment. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first opened and so I feel so grateful that two years later we were able to expand to nearly triple the size. For me it is the perfect fit: environ- mentally there is so much waste when it comes to children’s products so I love being able to provide a place where you can trade in your gently used items and find everything you need for the next stage! It’s a great alternative to buying new. Now on any given day you will find my kids hanging out in the playroom here at the store and I’m never late to pick them up anymore! The best part of opening this store has been all the wonderful people that have walked through the doors; I have met so many amazing parents, grandparents, and chil- dren that make up this community. So next time you are look- ing for something baby, stop on by. We would be happy to see you!
