addle up partner cuz if you’re lookin’ for that classic club sandwich and a place where there are nine kinds of BBQ sauce on the table…then go some- where else! Ha! But if you want food of a superior quality with a western twist, then give The Milias Restaurant a try! For example, the Caesar salad I ordered was grilled and had a surprisingly delicious smoky taste! (Smoky Flavor=Good, Smoking=Bad… Take notes kidz!)
This is sort of a homecoming since this is where the old Milias Hotel restaurant used to be… everything old is new again! (Fun Fact: it’s also where the great Harvest Time and Garlic-O used to be… the dark cave where I had three birthday parties in a row!) But no more. Now there are huge windows that let in lots of sunshine. That com- bined with the friendly staff, all in denim pants, definitely make for a warmer experience.
I had a vodka soda at
the bar, which was playing an old movie, Gone With The… Breeze or something. The whole restaurant is decorated with cowskin seats (PETA is gonna be all over this), large chan- deliers and old black and white photos. So saloon! So IN right now.
THE MILIAS RESTAURANT

Opening Soon for Lunch The decorating courtesy of John
Wayne may imply casual dining and, while there are some comfort food items, everything is done in a high end manner. After chomping on my Caeser that Smoky the Bear would NOT have approved of, I had the braised short ribs, so tender, so juicy… a Maverick’s dream! My brother had the Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, (used with Christopher Ranch garlic, of course. Simply The Best!), and when he wasn’t looking… I devoured it! I could taste
the garlic all the way down to my imaginary spurs (Wow! That was a strong vodka soda!). The restaurant encour- ages you to “Take a step back and dine,” and we definitely dined our faces off! Ha! My family and I appreciated the fun per- sonality of the Milias as
well as the scrumptious food. And now my four western jokes before you go: 1. Ingredients for making a Vodka Soda at Milias... vodka, soda water, and True Grit. 2. I’m sure The Milias will enjoy a Bonanza this hot summer! 3. Im sure if the Donner Party had found The Milias before... oh never- mind. And finally... 4. I think if Shane had ever eaten at The Milias… he would have “Come back.”
