Budget Honeymoons W
ith all the expense of the wedding, it can leave some new- leyweds with nothing left to spend on their honeymoon.
However, honeymooners on a budget can still have some options. With a little patience, some early planning and an open mind you can make your honeymoon trip both romantic and budget friendly. Here are a couple of ideas to consider.
1. A CAMPING HONEYMOON IN THE PARK California weather allows for many, many months of outdoor
fun. We have gorgeous parks up and down the state, along the coast or situated at some of our gorgeous lakes like Shasta and Lake Tahoe. But who wants to spend time setting up your camp- site on your honeymoon? You want something a little bit differ- ent. Then try a yurt honeymoon. Go online for more information at
www.yurts.com/how/yurt-vacations.. Some of these will also be available thru your California State Park pass. Plan a road trip that takes you from yurt to yurt, stopping at roadside pro- duce stands, especially if they also sell pie. For maximum opportunities, keep a well stocked picnic basket in the back seat with some special condiments, wine glasses and maybe some little sweet treats.
2. HOUSE TRADING WITH A FRIEND Do you have a
good friend who lives in another town, somewhere quaint like Carmel or maybe even a city like San Francisco? Ask if they would trade houses with you for a few days. You can even put off your honeymoon until a time when there may be something special going on in their town. Ask if they could leave you a list of recommended restaurants and night time activities. You save a bundle on your hotel expense, and your friend gets a vacation too.
