NORTHERN CALIFORNIA:

Well it looks like we will be getting our river salmon season. According to DFG from last year’s jack count and the second year returning fish count, this year should be one for

the books. Now if you ask me, from the up and mostly down ocean salmon season this year may not be as great as they predict, but I have been wrong in the past. There are already decent numbers of salmon showing in the Feather River, so we shall see how this year turns out. For you trout fishermen, now is the time to head to the Sierra. The snow is almost all melted and the water level in the streams is dropping. With the warmer weather that we are now having, all the bugs are now hatching and coming out from under the rocks. I know it’s hard to get away from work on short notice, but believe me now is the time to get out and fish before summer moves on or if you wait too long the season will come to an end. Tight Lines.
