South Africa’s SAPSOL Expo 2011 – the country’s first and only dedicated pool and spa exhibition – could be a major attraction for UK companies.

The three day event takes place on 9 to 11 September at the glamorous Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg and has been much anticipated. South Africa is currently benefitting from a recession free economy, an era of improved affluence and considerable international investment. It is also a country known for its outdoor and sporting prowess.

For UK companies the prospect of trading with local businesses is made easier with English the primary spoken language and time zone difference of just one or two hours. South Africans are also keen to partner with UK companies and are interested in the new technological developments being made by UK industry.

UK Trade & Investment funding is available for eligible companies and stand pricing starts from around £600 for a 9m shell scheme stand.

EGYPT POOL SHOW TO ‘TRY AGAIN’

The Egyptian pool and spa trade is planning a new date for the 2011 three day show after the original February event was cancelled due to the country’s political unrest. The decision to cancel the show was left as late as possible but was then ‘inevitable’ said a spokesman. “There was no way we could focus on a show or give our trade visitors re-assurances about their safety to travel. The support for the show to try again has been fantastic and we hope to be able to announce a new date later this year,” he added.
