50% savings on water consumption when back washing and comes with a floor mounted base as standard plus an optional wall mounting kit. AstralPool advise that the Hydrospin should always be installed between the pump and the filter. AsralPool also offer a selection of cartridge

filters – starting with the Terra 50 through to a Terra 150 covering a filtration surface from 4.7m sq. to 14m sq. The cylindrical cartridge filter covers a surface of 2.3m sq. There is also a cylindrical double cartridge filter covering a surface of 4.6m sq. Finally there is the AstralPool cylindrical filter with an in-built pump, which also covers a 2.3m sq surface.

AQUA SOL SYSTEM OFFERS 100% BACKWASH CYCLE

Aqua Sol Engineering’s VVF is made with stainless steel to guarantee long life

quality range of sand filters with high efficiency cleaning, manufactured in polyester with a gel coat external finish.

The Artic range is available in six sizes ranging from 500m to 1200m. On the 800m and 950m sizes savings can be achieved of up to 30% compared with the Delta. In addition all Artic models cost less than the equivalent Delta and come with a two year warranty.

The AstralPool Artic filter is manufactured in two sections eliminating the risk of leaks. It also has a better performance when backwashing. With general filtration there must be a free area of 20 – 30% between the sand and the diffuser to enable better and more efficient filtration. The company also boasts an effective add on with the Hydrospin pre-filter which assists standard pool filters in energy saving. The Hydrospin features 24 involute hydro cyclones in parallel and has a 40% extra capacity for solids with thickening/clarification. The system also enables

Aqua Sol Engineering’s patented “Cyclonic” action VVF (Variable Velocity Filter) is aimed at the commercial market where specifiers are looking for better water quality and cost effective systems.

Conventional filters find it difficult to provide a 100% backwash cycle, but the VVF guarantees this without the aid of air scour. Most conventional filter manufacturers maintain a filter should have a sand media change every two to four years, because the media is becoming contaminated with body fats, hair and the usual debris of a swimming pool and therefore the filter has not functioned 100% for some time. Where the VVF filter does not need sand changes as long as backwashes have been carried out, this dramatically reduces the cost of the filter over its life span. Also, where conventional filters are said to perform at their best at 25m³/m²/hr, the VVF performs at a rate from 6m³/m²/hr to 60m³/m²/hr without significant difference in water quality without the use of flocculents. The VVF is made with stainless steel to guarantee long life.

THE LATEST IN FIBREGLASS WINDING TECHNOLOGY

Both the Waterco-Lacron Deep Bed SMDD commercial and Bobbin wound domestic filter range from Golden Coast embody the latest in fibreglass winding technology, with the SMDD commercial unit designed with filter bed depths of 1.2m to provide in-depth filtration and increased dirt capacity.

The filtration vessels consist of an inner fibreglass shell, reinforced with polyester resin, which in turn is over-wound with fibreglass filaments to produce a smooth aesthetically pleasing finish.

To improve the water flow throughout the filter bed, the units can be supplied with either the nozzle plate or “Fish Tail” lateral arrangement of under drain design to eliminate “dead leg” areas. Available in 2.5bar, 4bar and 6bar working pressures there are eight sizes, ranging from 1050(42”) up to 2500(98”), which come complete with a sight glass and lifting eye as standard. The SMDD also benefits from quick connect unions in both metric and imperial connections.

The domestic MultiCyclone is used as a pre- filter attached in-line between a standard pump and the main sand or cartridge filter. It is operated by the passing water powering 16 multiple hydro cyclones to generate a strong centrifugal effect to create a vortex effect which cause the solids present in the water to drop out and be collected in the clear sediment bowl. spn
