NEW TRIOGEN UV RANGE AIMED AT PRIVATE POOL OWNERS
Water treatment specialists Triogen has launched a new TR range of low pressure UV Systems, designed for disinfection of private pools, spas and water features.
The new units will supersede the TES range with immediate effect. The TR range was developed with a North American partner and offers a cost effective solution to the private pool owner. The units utilise UV lamps and ballasts, to maximise product life and reliability.
The TR range will consist of five models and will be applicable for pools with flowrates up to 40m3/h. Benefits of the TR range includes reduced chemical dosing, improved algae control and superior bather comfort.
The range is simple to install and operate with low running costs. The TR range is manufactured from UV inhibited polymeric materials, making them suitable for use with pools utilising standard chemicals or salt water chlorinators.
The smaller TR1 units are typically mounted vertically, but can also be mounted horizontally by using an optional kit of spare parts.
The larger TR2 units have multiple inlet / outlet options thus allowing for simplification of the external installation pipe work.
Triogen is responsible for distribution and sales of the TR range in the UK, mainland Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
Sales of Triogen’s ozone and UV products have increased significantly over the last few years and, in September 2010, they moved to bigger, custom fitted premises to accommodate growth.

CASCADING INNOVATION FROM GOLDEN COAST back into the pool.
A new interactive therapeutic water feature that lets pool bathers control the flow of water simply by touching its base has been introduced by Golden Coast.
The ‘Aquila Cascade’ has a ‘touch sensitive’ control system in its AISI 316 stainless steel base that controls four different water flows, which in turn are linked to hidden changing coloured LED lights sequenced to illuminate the water as it cascades
Water cascades not only allow bathers to relax under a curtain of warm water to relax muscles and relieve stress but add excitement and fun for children to enhance any swimming experience.
Ideally suited for indoor or outdoor domestic pools it can be fitted during initial construction or as part of a refurbishment project. The Aquila Cascade joins other water curtain and water cannon units available from Golden Coast. These include the Flexinox ‘Bali’ that creates a gentle curtain of water, while the Cannon jet ‘Fiji’ comes with either a circular or flat nozzle to deliver a ‘high-pressure’ defused water jet. Alternatively, the ‘Tahiti’ has the option of four different nozzle heads to create a single or defused spray.

GOLD MEDALIST SUPPORTS LOCAL POOL CAMPAIGN
An Olympic Gold medalist swimmer is backing a campaign to bring back a community pool in Coventry. Commonwealth winner Adam Whitehead was at the portable pool in Coundon Court Secondary School which has been built after the permanent one was closed four years ago. Within nine days of the pool opening last month 500 people had visited. Adam said he was pleased to see the pool and added its success proves a permanent facility is needed. “I was fortunate that my primary school took me to Coventry Sports Centre where I learnt how to swim, but now we are losing facilities around the city and there is obviously a need for it. If it wasn’t for portable pools like this kids wouldn’t learn how to swim,” he said.
