3M’S COMPACT FILTERS REDUCE COSTS AND SYSTEM FOOTPRINT Diversified technology company 3M is re- launching its filtration system designed to offer greater water flow rates and optimised performance. The 3M High Flow Filtration System has a compact and easy-to-use design that reduces capital expense and minimises system requirements, whilst simplifying cartridge installation and removal.

A patent pending compound radial pleat design is at the heart of the 3M High Flow Filtration System, permitting flow rates of up to 113m³/hr (500gpm) in a single cartridge. The result is 90% fewer filter elements to accommodate flow requirements compared to traditional 2.5-inch pleated cartridges. This reduced filter usage minimises labour and disposal costs, product leakage, operator exposure and downtime for filter change-out. Furthermore, fewer elements combined with an ‘outside-to-in’ flow path means the cartridge housing takes up 33-50% less plant space than competitively sized housings for a given flow rate, and at a lower cost.

CERTIKIN HAS BETTER VISION! Certikin’s Vision bobbin wound domestic filters has a new addition to the range, the Vision Plus Deep Bed Filter.

The Vision Plus is a natural progression on the standard range of Vision filters. A deeper sand bed means more contact time between the filter media and pool water providing in-depth filtration and increased dirt capacity, resulting in a better filtration.

The Vision Plus also features a lateral under drain arrangement that tests show is 15% more efficient in filtering and backwashing than the standard “star configuration”; saving water and back wash time.

Both top and side mount versions are available and come with an impressive 10 year full tank warranty for residential installations. Certikin also have the low cost solution with their Water Saving Backwash Filter. The filter does exactly what it says it does and is pre-fitted

with two hose tails. One side has a 3m length of flexible hose fitted and the customer uses this to connect up to his present sand filter with the jubilee clips supplied. The cartridge filter catches any dirt inside the sand filter which is then flushed out during back washing allowing water normally wasted during the back wash process to be redirected back into the pool.

FILTERS4SPAS OFFER LIFETIME GUARANTEE ON SCREW THREAD OF FILTERS Cartridge filters are known to be an effective way to filter out fine debris in pools and spas to as low as 10 – 15 microns. Darlly Europe Limited, through Filters4Spas, is becoming recognised as the major supplier of premium quality filter cartridges. Darlly filters cartridges carry a lifetime guarantee on the screw-thread, often the weakest part of the filter, together with a twelve month money-back guarantee.

The cartridges are available in a range of sizes and earlier this year saw the launch of the Darlly SilverStream® cartridge which offers antimicrobial protection based on silver ion technology incorporated into all the filter’s surfaces, including the top, bottom and the EasyStream® core to provide continuous built-in antimicrobial protection for the expected lifetime of the filter cartridge.

Recent advances in antimicrobial technology allow silver to be added to everyday products at the manufacturing stage making the cartridge

hygienic and reducing the risk of levels of microbes e.g. bacteria and moulds. The company can supply a single item, a carton (average nine units), a pallet with 16+ cartons (MIXED) or a container of 5,000+ units for trade accounts.

Filters4Spas Gil Gingell explains: “‘Antimicrobial’ is simply the term used to describe something that has the ability to resist the growth of microbes e.g. bacteria and moulds. The technology; in the form of a silver ion additive is incorporated at the time of manufacture to provide continuous built-in antimicrobial protection for the expected lifetime of each filter cartridge.

CLEARPRO TECHNOLOGY FROM POLLET POOL

The innovation in the Triton and Tagelus II Filters supplied from Pollet Pool Group lies in ClearPro technology, a patented component positioned inside the filter.

It allows enough water to be able to cross through without pressure loss but capable of acting as an efficient barrier against the finest particles, such as dust, algae and pollen. The result is water so clear that no other sand filter lacking in ClearPro Technology is able to offer. ClearPro is a patented technology by Pentair to reach a very fine level of filtration four times better than with a conventional sand filter (approximately 10 micron versus 40 micron). This purity is achieved thanks to new porous laterals which act like additional filters creating an extra barrier against the finest particles. As a result, the water is crystal quality. ClearPro approaches DE filter clarity with sand filter functionality.
