of Race Night, in fact our Club‘s 5th Annual Race Night.


he evening‘s profit of


£1,524.00 will benefit Little Havens, First Step, Ravensbourne School, The Canal Boat Project and Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. 60 tickets were sold that made a profitable and fun evening


he Raffle for the star prize - Chauffeured


Rolls Royce for lunch at Smith‘s Brassiere at Ongar - was won by Brian Taffs – Enjoy! I am sure Brian and Jan will drink a toast to the Club and to David and Rita Fell who generously sponsored the prize.


he evening could not happen without the co-operation and help of all Ro-


tarians involved to make this annual event the success it has become.


I will name but a few


Ron Geggus for his truly persuasive, hard to refuse, extraction powers. His efforts alone produced eleven adverts/ sponsorships to the tune of £530! The other 6 regular sponsors answered my call for support and very little need for arm twisting… A letter of thanks has gone out to all our sponsors enclosing our 2011

Jim Haines who managed to man the entrance, collecting ticket money, join the tote sellers and generally take responsibility for banking the funds as our treasurer and not least making sure there was a float where needed.
