Happy days are here again.
How the Brazil Project is teaching the street children to live a happier and more fulfilled life
L A
ast year a group of our members and their partners went to Berlin for a
fellowship weekend with the members and their partners from the Rotary club of Hermeskeil and Hunsruch.
fter the meal, on the first night, we were given a power point
presentation by Rotarian Andreas showing us the evidence of our two clubs‘ ‗matching grant‘ project in Brazil. The text of Andreas‘ talk - which he provided
for us in English - is reproduced here in full. His photographs illustrate one of the ways that the street children are helped, through music. The keyboard is used to accompany and encourage singing. The children are taught how to play the variety of percussion instruments at the same time as they learn how to work as a team. It is obvious from the pictures that the children are thoroughly enjoying themselves.
