1895 - text by e. goudeau, illustrated with 12 lithographs by dillon, each in two states. no. 37 of 45 copies on papier de chine, numbered and initialled by the publisher. A little spotting to ads at rear otherwise near fine.
1896 - text by e. goudeau, illustrated with 6 lithographs by georges meunier, each in two states, one coloured and one in sepia. no. 25 of 25 copies on papier de Chine numbered and initialled by the publisher, with the plates in two states. slight chipping to spine of wrapper, a little foxing on the last few pages, a very good copy.
1897 - text by charles morice, illustrated with 4 coloured and 8 black and white woodcuts by Auguste lepere. A fine unopened copy. unlimited edition.
An excellent set of the three Almanachs (all that were published) by the prominent parisian publisher and book and print dealer edmond sagot. An evocative glimpse into 1890’s parisian style and fashion.
in 1881 edmond sagot opened a shop in paris dealing in rare and contemporary prints. he rapidly became the most influential fine print dealer of his day. he was also the first art dealer to add illustrated posters to his inventory and his interest in them helped to increase their already growing popularity. in order to advertise his gallery and to promote the artists he published, sagot commissioned posters during the 1890’s from such well known masters as georges meunier, felix vallotton, Alexandre lunois, george Alfred bottini and, paul hellue.

limited edition of 400 numbered copies, this one of 325 copies of the standard limited edition, each copy with a hand coloured facsimile of the frontispiece used in the first edition.
this copy belonged to the binder of the standard limited edition, A.f. sismore, with his binding ticket and initialled by him in ink.
scotcher’s work first appeared in about 1810 described by Westwood and satchell as “A rare local work”, originally published in chepstow.
